The course is suitable for candidates who have some experience of writing HTML and CSS to create simple web pages and who wish to develop their coding skills further, whilst adopting a more formal approach to the website development process. Entry RequirementsYou should have already completed the "Creating Pages for the Web" course or have equivalent skills in handcoding HTML and CSS to create basic web pages. Please call your college learning centre to find out more. As you’ll have to study some of this course at home, you will need a computer and access to the Internet as a minimum. We will advise you of any other applications needed and where to download them from once the course has started. QualificationsOn successful completion of the assignments you will be awarded with an SQA credit for Web-site Design and Development at SCQF level 5. AttendanceThis course can take up to 40 hours of learning which will depend on your current level of skill. This tutored course consists of 8 classes lasting 2½ hours, scheduled 1 week apart. Additional study is required between sessions of a minimum of 2 hours per week. (Classes will run subject to viable numbers). Cost£80. This is an ILA Scotland approved course. Ask your college learning centre for more information on how to apply for this funding or call ILA Scotland free on 0808 100 1090. Applications may take around 4 weeks. Your ILA Scotland account must be in place, before you start this course. The cost of this course includes all tutor based learning materials, access to college learning centre PCs, assessment and SQA certification of successful completion. Fee waivers may also apply. At the end of the course you will have demonstrated your understanding of what needs to taken into account when designing a web-site for a client. You will also correctly completed practical assignments, covering the course content as listed above. |
