REHIS ELEMENTARY FOOD HYGIENE

Course Description

This one day course will provide food handlers with a basic understanding of food hygiene.  It is a nationally recognised qualification provided by REHIS - Royal Environmental Institute of Scotland.

The course covers

  • Bacteria and how it affects food
  • Food pests and how to control them
  • Cleaning practices
  • Hygiene and habits of food handlers
  • Hygiene in the preparation, cooking and storage of food
  • Current food legislation

You must attend the full training session.

Progression

On completion of the Elementary Food Hygiene you could progress onto the Intermediate Food Hygiene or to REHIS Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points for Caterers.

Cost

£75.  This includes a handbook, the examination and certification from REHIS.
