Business Administration SVQ

Course Description

Business Administration is available at a levels 2 & 3 SVQ it is designed for anyone in full time employment and works in an administrative role.

The level 2 qualification is made up of 5 units, 2 of which are mandatory and the other 3 are selected by the candidates from a list of specialist units relevant administration work in differing organisations. The level 3 qualfication is made up of 6 units, 2 of which are mandatory with the candidate selecting the other 4. A selection of units are detailed below and your SVQ Assessor will help you choose the ones relevant to your work.

* Work within your business environment
* Manage customer relations
* Maintain the drinks service
* Maintain the reception service
* Organise business travel and accommodation
* Deal with visitors
* Organise and support meetings
* Manage yourself
* Use a telephone system
* Use various software applications
* Work effectively with other people
* Use specialist or bespoke software
* Research and report information

The majority of the evidence for the qualification will be provided through visual observations carried out in the workplace. A portfolio of evidence is created by the candidate and the candidate will also have to show that they have appropriate knowledge and understanding of their job.

Entry requirements

You must be in year round employment in an administrative capacity.

Qualifications

SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Business Administration

Attendance

This course is completed in the work place. You will also have to attend a selection of 1 day workshops including health and safety. It is expected that you will need between 18 months for the SVQ level 2 qualification and 2 years to complete the SVQ Level 3 qualification.

Start Date and Venue

Cost

We provide you with an evidence portfolio and all the documentation required to help you complete the qualification. We also provide you with a textbook and access to a variety of different resources.

Candidates must be in full time employment and may be able to secure funding from Highland and Islands Enterprise, especially those between the age of 16 -19.
