Course Description
Do you want to build your skills and confidence in communication? This ten week two hour, tutored course will ease you into learning about how communicate clearly and well. It deals with communication in a way that relates to everyday situations in your personal, social and work life.
The course aims to enhance your basic reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.
During this course you will learn :
- Skills for reading different types of non-fiction texts
- Skills for writing in a variety of ways
- Skills for researching topics
- Skills for talking, listening and discussing topics
Entry requirements
There are no entry requirements for this course although achievement at a basic level would be desirable. If you are unsure, please call you nearest college learning centre now to find out more and we can arrange for you to discuss the course with the tutor. At the start of the course, your tutor willhelp you decide which level of Communication to aim for. You will need to bring a note pad and pen.
Qualifications
National Unit. On successful completion of assessments you will be awarded with the relevant SQA Communication award.
Attendance
The course requires attendance at your college learning centre for a minimum of 2 hours per week for 10 weeks. In addition there is an element of self learning required and you will need to do some work at home or book a study place at your college learning centre to allow you to complete all the course work.
N.B - Attendance at tutored sessions is compulsory.
