Construction Skills Certificate

Course Description

The Construction Skills Health & Safety Test helps raise standards across the industry, ensuring that workers meet a minimum level of health & safety awareness before going on a site. It now forms a key part of most major card schemes.

This course involves up to 6 hours of Self Learning, at a college learning centre plus essential, additional home study.

During this course you will learn:

  • Health & Welfare
  • Manual Handling
  • Working at Height
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Emergency Procedures and First Aid
  • Safe use of Hazardous Substances
  • Electrical Safety
  • Hand-held Equipment and Tools
  • Fire Prevention and Control
  • Safety Signs and Signals
  • Site Transport Safety
  • Noise and Vibration
  • Excavations and Confined Spaces

Part of this course will be a mock test to check your knowledge and understanding, prior to the test date. By the end of the course you will have gained the knowledge to complete the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) test.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Qualifications

On successful completion of the test you will be awarded with a Construction Skills Certificate.

Attendance

This course can take around 6 hours of learning which will depend on your current level of skill.  After enroling on the course you will be given access to a space at a college learning centre to study the course and complete the mock test.

Cost

£110.  This is an ILA Scotland approved course. Ask your college learning centre for more information on how to apply for this funding or call ILA Scotland free on 0808 100 1090.  Applications may take around 4 weeks.  Your ILA Scotland account must be in place, before you start this course.  The cost of this course includes all tutor based learning materials, access to a college learning centre pc, assessment and certification on successful completion.
