Course Description

This course is to allow you to improve your typing speed and get a certificate to acknowledge your keyboarding accuracy and skills from 25 words per minute (wpm) to 80 wpm.

During this course you will key in text for 10 minutes. Set line spacing and margins as directed, proof read your final document to ensure that it meets the specification of no more than 6 errors. You will access online materials to improve your current speed, accuracy and document layout skills

Entry Requirements

You should be using a word processing application regularly and be comfortable using a keyboard.

Qualifications

On successful completion you will be awarded with an SQA credit at SCQF level 4 or 5 and certificate dependant on the wpm speed you achieve.

Attendance

This course can take up to 40 hours of learning which will depend on your current level of skill. You may study at home or in the supportive environment of our college learning centres. However, there is a short assessment of 10 minutes in duration which must be carried out at the college learning centre a time for this will be planned with you.

Cost

£64 This includes access to the online learning materials, access to a college learning centre computer, assessment and SQA certification on successful completion.  This is an ILA Scotland approved course.
