ECDL Advanced WordThe extensive use of computers in many business functions today has brought into existence a variety of roles that rely on extensive knowledge of particular computing tools. An individual or employee holding an ECDL Advanced certificate can prove they have the competence to effectively and efficiently use these tools, in a given application, to benefit any organisation. Course DescriptionYou will learn about advanced word processing functions using Word 2003. These will include: section breaks and multiple formats within a document; advanced tables; creating macros and auto text functions; using forms with drop-down fields and check boxes; advanced Mail Merge; editing and layout; document organisation; special tools and printing. You are supported every step of the way, to help ensure that you are equipped with the skills to pass your Advanced Word test. What's more, three training sessions will help you achieve great document production and a better understanding of how to apply these new skills in the work place. Entry RequirementsYou will already have gained ECDL or a similar qualification and be using a word processing application on a regular basis. The course is based on Windows XP and MS Office 2003. QualificationsOn successful completion you will be awarded with a BCS (British Computer Society) ECDL Advanced Word certificate. AttendanceThis 24 week course comprises both self study and mandatory contact with your enrolling college learning centre. Learners choose the time, place and pace at which they study and they are supported by our staff. Learning can be done at the college learning centre by booking a PC, at home or on a work PC (with consent of employer). It is important to book PCs in advance. Email support is also available. There are 3 training sessions, scheduled over an 8 – 12 week period lasting 2½ hours. We strongly recommend that you attend all 3 sessions. These will be planned with you at your induction to the course. You have 24 weeks to complete your learning and book a time to sit the 1 hour exam in the college learning centre. Your local college learning centre will be happy to discuss with you. Cost£110 This includes all learning materials, workbook, access to a college learning centre computer, one test and BCS (British Computer Society) ECDL Advanced Word certificate.
