Life Drawing

Course Description

A course designed to enable candidates who may be studying life drawing for the first time to develop skills and techniques in the drawing of the human form from a live model.

You will develop a basic understanding of proportion and anatomy and develop skills using a variety of media and techniques to produce studies of parts of the human figure and drawings of clothed and/ or unclothed live models that are proportionally correct.

This unit is suitable for those candidates who:

  • are undertaking the study of life drawing for the first time
  • wish to obtain basic knowledge of life drawing
  • wish to develop their drawing skills as part of a portfolio

Entry requirements

Entry is at the discretion of the tutor - and all students would benefit from previous experience of an art or design courses and have basic drawing skills.  The tutor will be happy to talk to prospective candidates fo decide if the course is appropriate for you. 

Qualifications

On successful completion of the course you will receive an SQA Certificate for the unit achieved.

Attendance

We recommend you attend each of the weekly sessions to achieve success in this course.

After this course, you could progress to other art courses - or to our full time Creative Art and Design Course.

This includes learning materials, tutored sessions and an SQA certification on successful completion.
