Introduction to Spreadsheets (Make it Easy)

 

Course Description

A great course comprising of tutored sessions, supported study time in your nearest college learning centre and excellent learning materials that you keep for practise and future reference. The aim of this course is for the learner to develop a good foundation in spreadsheet skills and be able to use them for a range of applications.

By the end of this course you will be able to:

  • create, edit and format spreadsheets
  • perform calculations using simple formulae and Excel functions
  • generate charts of various kinds

Entry Requirements

You must be able to use a mouse and have basic keyboard skills. If you are a complete beginner, you should have completed the Absolute Beginner's course first or be at that level.If you are trying to decide what the best option is for you, we would encourage you to contact one of our college learning centres.  We can help by arranging an IT Skills Check, which will help pinpoint what your current level is.

Qualifications

College Learning Centre Certificate.  

Attendance

This is a short course of normally 3 weeks, during which there will be three tutored sessions.  You are encouraged to practise skills between sessions at home or you can choose to book a computer, free of charge at your nearest Learning Centre.

These courses are available at all of our college learning centres in Portree, Staffin, Sleat and the Kyle area.

Progression

After this course, you may like to go on to complete your ECDL course.  Our staff will be happy to discuss the best option for you.

Cost

£64 This includes all learning materials, workbooks, access to a Learning Centre computer.  This is an ILA Scotland approved course. Ask your college learning centre for more information on how to apply for this funding or call ILA Scotland free on 0808 100 1090.  Applications may take around 4 weeks.
