Introduction to Word (Make it Easy)Course DescriptionA good next step from our Absolute Beginners or Using a Keyboard course, this course is for Word beginners and will introduce you to useful word processing skills. If you have to produce any written work consisting mainly of text, on the computer, then Word is the application to use. In this course you will learn how to use Word for many standard documents for home and office use: letters, posters, essays. Entry requirementsYou must be able to use a mouse. You do not need to be a touch typist, but should be familiar with keys such as space bar, return/enter, caps lock and backspace. If you are a complete beginner, you should have completed the Absolute Beginner's course first or be at that level. If you are trying to decide what the best option is for you, we would encourage you to contact one of our college learning centres. We can help by arranging an IT Skills Check, which will help pinpoint what your current level is. QualificationsCollege Learning Centre Certificate. AttendanceThis is a short course of normally 3 weeks, during which there will be three tutored sessions. You are encouraged to practise skills between sessions at home or you can choose to book a computer, free of charge at your nearest college learning centre. ProgressionAfter gaining this certificate, you may like to study one of our PC Passport SCQF level 4 courses. Cost£64 This includes all learning materials, workbooks, access to a college learning centre computer. This is an ILA Scotland approved course.
