Sketchbook Development (Thematic Studies)

Course Description

This course will give you the opportunity to experience the sketchbook process through the exploration and investigation of a theme. You will learn how to develop your ideas through the creative use of various media and techniques, and compile a sketchbook for either a 2D or 3D project.

You will explore and experience the creative process to develop ideas suitable for evolving into a final piece of work. You will be encouraged to respond in a personal way through creative experimentation with a range of media and techniques, and will produce and gather drawings, photographs, cuttings, sketches, and various 2D/3D work. You may draw on your previous experience of various mediums, and will also be encouraged to explore new materials and combinations of media.

Entry requirements

Entry is at the discretion of the tutor - and all students would benefit from previous experience of an art or design course. 

Qualifications

On successful completion of the course you will receive an SQA Certificate.

Progression

After this course, you could progress to other individual art courses - or to our part time or full time Art Courses.

Cost

£80 This includes learning materials, tutored sessions and an SQA certification on successful completion.  Students will need to supply their own A3 Sketchbook, HB pencils and soft eraser.
