First Steps


Do you want to boost your confidence, get some practical skills and gain a qualification at the same time?  We can help you create your own individual action plan and complete a qualification at the same time.  2 days a week for 4 weeks on this FREE course is all it will take and funding can be available for childcare and travel.

 

Return to Employment and Education 

Here is an opportunity for you  to get back to work now that your kids are at school or after a break from working for a while.  You wil learn about the effective use of IT in an office and other essential skills for working in a small business or for moving into Further Education.  This course is 1 day a week for 14 weeks with a little homework too - and its FREE.   Funding can be available for childcare and travel.  

 

Get Ready for Work (GRFW)

This is a FREE national programme of up to 20 weeks for those who are 16 or 17 and have left school but can't find a job,  training or a college place.  We can help you bridge the gap between school and employment with work tasters and placements to help give you the experience you will need. 

 

Positive Moves

If you have been looking for work and are registered with Job Centre Plus then this programme can offer help with individually tailored job searches and helping you with confidence and motivation, learning and skills.  It lasts half a day a week for up to 13 weeks and is FREE - you continue to receive your Jobcentre Plus benefits whilst on the course.

 

New Deal

A chance to train and do work experience to gain confidence. We will help you improve your skills and find new ones, accessing a range of courses that the college has to offer.
